Why choosing ecocert as organic cosmetic certification?

Osmè chose to guarantee total safety through the Ecocert label organic certification, that controls the entire manufacturing process and lists the organic and natural ingredients on the label.
Ecocert requires that the packaging is minimised and environmentally friendly and that in environmental and waste management plan for factories is in place.

What does the ecocert standard cover?

To obtain the Ecocert Organic Certification you need to meet these key requirements:

> minimum 95% of volume certifiable must be Bio/organic

> minimum 10% of the total ingredients are from organic farming.

To ensure an environmentally friendly cosmetic product, the ECOCERT standard requires:

The use of ingredients derived from renewable resources and manufactured by environmentally friendly processes. ECOCERT therefore checks:
The absence of GMO, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicon, PEG, synthetic perfumes and dyes, animal-derived ingredients (unless naturally produced by them: milk, honey, etc.).
The biodegradable or recyclable nature of packaging.

What should you look for on the label?

There are two types of ECOCERT labels: 'ECOCERT ORGANIC’ for products meeting the minimum percentages of organic ingredients, 'ECOCERT NATURAL’ for those products complying with the standard in all respects but the minimum organic percentages.
Osme chose the ECOCERT ORGANIC certification as a better choice for you.

ECOCERT ORGANIC’ always appears together withthe logo.In addition, the label has to indicate the percentage of organic ingredients in the product. This is normally the percentage of organic ingredients on the whole product, but, as some products contain a lot of water, that can never be organic, you may also see the percentage of organic ingredients excluding these two elements. Finally, there are requirements for how the certified company describes itself and its products to make sure any literature and claims are accurate and not misleading.
